You hail from what is often cited as the oldest of all professions. While the term “creature of the night” might make some think of vampires and their ilk, your profession is something quite different. As a prostitute, you are no stranger to the difficulties and hardships of life. You survive by your wits, your charms, and your gut instinct, and you have a knack for turning risky situations to your advantage.

Night Dweller

When you become a rank 1 Courtesan, and every time you gain a rank in the Courtesan profession, you become more accomplished at teasing out potential profit in dangerous situations.

Rank 1

When in a settled area, you may find work in an unscrupulous tavern or in a brothel. Your room and board are paid for and you earn 1d4 sc. You also pick up on some rumors about the events or prominent people in the settled area. Make a CHA/Gossiping check, then add +50. That is the % likelihood that you gain truthful information. Have your MC roll 1d% in private. If they roll above the sum total of your check, then they offer you misleading or outright false information. If they roll equal to or lower than the sum total of your check, then they offer you one true rumor.

Rank 2

Your rank 1 ability earnings become 4d4 sc. You also gain +10 to your CHA/Gossiping check.

Rank 3

You learn two rumors, rather than one, regardless of whether your ability offers you truthful or misleading information.

By leveraging your various connections, and applying light blackmail when necessary, you can arrange meetings with prominent folk. You can secure an audience with most city officials within three days of requesting one.

Rank 4

You may demand that a city official meets with you within 8 hours of making a request to meet. A city official can deny this request, but if they do, they lose 2 Goodwill in every occupational sphere and you gain +1 Goodwill in one occupational sphere of your choice. (1/Week)

Your rank 1 ability earnings become 6d6 sc.

Rank 5

When you use your rank 4 ability to demand a meeting, the target of the meeting loses 3 Goodwill, rather than 2, if they do not meet with you within 2 hours of you making the request. You then gain +1 Goodwill in three different occupational spheres of your choice.

Your rank 1 ability earnings become 8d8 sc.
