[Back to creatures]

Inferno is a plane of existence torn asunder by hatred and malice. Inferno is divided into four domains, each rife with conflict and backstabbing as various Archfiends and Exiles compete for dominance. The fiends of Choloreth, Melaneth, Phlegmereth, and Sanguineth each embody the twisted menace of their domains. The Exiles, too, are warped by their hellish environment, but they were once celestials. The Exiles still hold vestiges of their former splendor, boasting angelic wings, tremendous power, and otherworldly beauty.

Fiends of Cholereth

A great ocean of burning sand and coals known as Kalk’gahrak dominates the domain of Cholereth. The fiends of this realm wage eternal war across its savage dunes. The Cholereth follow more of a hierarchy than any of Inferno’s other domains as they organize themselves into bloodthirsty warbands that seek to dominate and slaughter one another. They fight with skill and tactic as much as brute force to defeat all who stand in their way. Three Archfiends each battle for complete dominance over Cholereth, and Mikhael, the leader of the Exiles, is headquartered deep within Kalk’gahrak, where he plans his own conquest of Inferno.

Rakshasa

The children of Rakmourtuth, one of the three princes of Cholereth, Rakshasas are four-armed fiends with terrifying command over magic. Many have the heads and tails of a feline or lizard creature, while others appear human aside from skin of otherworldly yellow or blue tones. Regardless of their true appearance, Rakshasas that leave Inferno for other planes can shapeshift into a humanoid to disguise their identity. In other planes, they infiltrate societies and use their charismatic charm and magical skills to quickly rise in prominence, where they can maliciously influence the happenings of a region to their own benefit.
