[Back to creatures]

The Bunyip is a large, amphibious mammal that makes its home in and around freshwater rivers and lakes. It has a sleek head and body with oily fur that lends it a streamlined speed in water. Bunyips have bodies like panthers and heads like seals or canines. Their legs are also catlike, and their feet end in clawed flippers. They are usually solitary creatures and are omnivorous, though they prefer meat to vegetation.
