Castoroides
The predecessor to the modern beaver, the Castoroides is a large rodent that makes its home around temperate and tropical lakes and rivers. These rodents are usually the size of a brown bear and live in small family units, making hutches out of timber in their region. While omnivorous, Castoroideses will primarily eat aquatic plants, along with the occasional fish or insect.
