Rank 1

You can always find free shelter in a friendly or neutral settlement, camp, or establishment. You gain +2 to any Performance or Influence checks with anyone who has eaten a dish you’ve prepared in the last 24 hours. You gain 1d6 sc for every night you run service.

Rank 2

You can always find free simple food and shelter in a friendly or neutral settlement, camp, or establishment for up to 4 people. You are granted safe storage space in any permanent settlement or establishment where you prepare food for at least 7 days. This storage space will be protected appropriately as loaned property, but NPCs will not protect it at risk of injury or death. You gain the service of an apprentice or kitchen hand, who is unwilling to participate in combat, but will perform other kitchen-related tasks at your direction. Finally, you gain an additional +2 to any Performance or Influence checks with anyone who has eaten a dish you’ve prepared in the last 24 hours, and your earnings per night that you cook becomes 1d6+2 sc.

Rank 3

The food and shelter you receive for free can now accommodate 8 people comfortably. You gain a second apprentice. For every 7 days you prepare food, you have a 50% chance of gaining Goodwill, and a 10% chance of everyone in your party gaining Goodwill. Roll percentile dice: on a roll of 51 or higher, you gain Goodwill; on a roll of 91 or higher, your party also gains Goodwill. Your earnings per night that you cook become 1d10+5 sc.

Rank 4

You gain an additional apprentice and choose which culinary route to pursue: feeding the masses and being treated handsomely by all, or specializing in culinary perfection and creating the finest dishes and delicacies. This affects your abilities at Ranks 4 and 5 of this profession.

Golden Palate
Rank 4 You can now draw the attention and gain an audience with NPCs with 4 or fewer levels in any Aristocracy profession and the attention of any NPC with 2 or fewer levels in any profession. One of your apprentices has been promoted to Sous Chef and can run service in your absence.  Once a month, you can request a favor from an NPC for whom you have prepared a fine meal, and you are considered to have +5 Goodwill for the purposes of this request.
Rank 5 You can now draw the attention and gain an audience with almost any non-hostile NPC within 7 days of requesting it, and any NPC with a professional Rank of 4 or fewer will make time for you within 24 hours of the request if you are offering to prepare a dish for them. You gain an additional Sous Chef who can run service in your absence. You gain a signature dish that costs 30 sc for you to prepare. It can serve up to 16 individuals, and anyone who consumes this dish considers you a close personal friend and confidant for the purposes of requesting a favor, sharing information, or other similar requests. This can be done once per month.
Treated Handsome
Rank 4 Your quarters and storage from the Rank 2 of this profession are now protected as if they are the owner’s own valued property. You gain an additional 4 apprentices and you can send your apprentices to retrieve, store, and move items on your behalf. You can now secure free lodgings and food for up to 15 individuals. You and your 15 companions may ignore negative Goodwill if the settlement has heard of you, but is not actively hostile toward you. Losing additional Goodwill removes this protection entirely for this settlement.
Rank 5 Anywhere people gather, tale of your legendary parties and feasts will spread. It is now impossible for you to gain more than -9 Goodwill in any settlement barring commitment of very serious crimes. Once per month you can throw an event or feast that raises your Goodwill with the benefactors by 1d4+5 and earns you 10d10 x10 sc, which you can forgo to double your Goodwill gained with this feature.
