The Carbunclo is a small subterranean creature that resembles a gem-encrusted armadillo. Its skin appears silver, gold, or platinum and it usually has a large reflective scale on its forehead that can absorb and reflect light. The Carbunclo digs through vast subterranean caves in search of gems and precious metals that comprise its diet. Many miners hate Carbunclos for this reason, but some actually employ Carbunclos in [[order]] to identify new veins of precious gems, understanding that feeding the Carbunclo a few gems in exchange for a vast cache is a reasonable arrangement.
