Born from a twisted metamorphosis, the Lepidloth bursts forth from a chrysalis fashioned from the remains of a fallen creature. Its velvety wings hold patternings and markings reminiscent of the creature from which it emerged. Lepidloth wings are known to have hypnotic properties, making it easier for the mothlike creature to feast on enraptured prey.
The Lepidloth begins its life cycle as an Arthidloth, which is a large caterpillar with rows of inward-curving hooked teeth that it uses to burrow into its victims. It first ensnares unsuspecting creatures with its strong, silky webs, and once it has gathered enough nutrients from its victim, it spins a cocoon within the warmth and safety of its prey’s carcass.
