Plesiosauruses are the longnecked dinosaurs of the sea. They resemble Apatosauruses or Brachiosauruses with much shorter tails, although in place of four legs, they have four large fins that maneuver them through the water. Their long necks allow them to eat coastal vegetation or seaweed deep in narrow trenches that the Plesiosaurus’s bulk can’t squeeze through. Plesiosauruses are primarily herbivorous, capable of eating fish but preferring a diet of vegetation. Viewed as gentle giants, some dinosaur wranglers will ride Plesiosauruses while they scout coastal environments.
