A Cynognathus is a quadrupedal, carnivorous animal that typically lives in packs of half a dozen to two dozen, with the average pack being about twelve to fourteen members. Cynognathuses operate much as wolves do, with each member of a pack having a distinct role as leader, nurturer, scout, or moral support, among other roles. Cynognathuses generally live in deciduous forests, temperate plains, and mild deserts. They appear to be a blend of mammal and reptile and sport both fur and scales. Their bodies are canine, their legs lizard-like, and their heads resembling furry crocodilian heads.
