Large fungal beasts of burden, Buttercaps generally dwell in subterranean communities. They fill the multiple roles of domesticated livestock, serving as beasts of burden, as mounts, and as a source of food. These fungi are noted for their distinct buttery flavor, which becomes more pronounced the older they get.
