[Back to creatures]

The Parasaurolophus is recognizable by its distinct crescent-crested head. By manipulating its nasal canal, it can produce a series of trumpeting noises that it uses to communicate with other Parasaurolophuses across distances of several miles. Parasaurolophuses are known to travel in quite large herds that can be divided into smaller family units in much the same way that a humanoid tribe operates. Due to their tight-knit herd societies, Parasaurolophuses are difficult to train. When dino wranglers do manage to train a Parasaurolophus, it makes quite a valuable mount for scouting as it can trumpet alarms or signals to other riders.
