Megalodon

[Back to creatures]

Megalodons are the largest sharks to ever swim Ancerra’s waters. These massive creatures regularly measure over 100 ft from snout to tail and feast on large fish, dolphins, ichthyosauruses, plesiosauruses, and even whales. They compete with Liopleurodons and Mosasauruses for territory and for prey. While they are the largest out of these three beasts, Mosasauruses are more populous, and a Megalodon’s sheer size prohibits it from hunting effectively in shallower waters. Megalodons usually hunt beyond the continental shelf in the open ocean, so early humanoid sailors scarcely ever come into direct contact with them. Sailors that see a Megalodon’s gigantic dorsal fin quickly change course for shallower waters.
