A saintly spear with a gold-plated, armored shaft. Infused with divine energy, Ascalon is a weapon of legacy, passed from one saint to the next to restore light in befouled places. Bonding to Ascalon allows its wielder to pierce the darkness shrouding the land with holy vindication.

Damage: 1d6 blunt or sharp

Ascalon is a spear that counts as magical, silvered, and avadrium. With Ascalon you gain +1 to your attack and damage rolls. When you hit a creature with Ascalon, after applying damage, gain +1 “Precision Point.” You may have a max of 5 Precision Points at one time, and you lose all Precision Points when you miss a creature. You add current Precision Points to your damage rolls when you hit with Ascalon.

Furious Precision For 0 AP, you may expend 1 Precision Point to gain a +1 bonus to your next attack with Ascalon.
Furious Precision II Furious Precision, Character Level 5 Ascalon’s crit range increases by +1. Additionally, when you crit with Ascalon, you gain +2 Precision Points.
Furious Precision III Furious Precision II, Character Level 11 When you hit with Ascalon, you may spend 5 Precision Points to Impale your target.
  • Impale: Make a special attack with Ascalon against a creature’s FORT. On a hit, you Impale them, doing 2d10 sharp damage. While Impaled, you may not use Ascalon to attack, and the Impaled creature is Restrained. A creature may free itself with a STR/Applied Force check against a DC equal to 10+2 per enhancement Ascalon currently possesses. If removed in this way, the creature takes 2d10 sharp damage.
Empowered Spear Character Level 7 Ascalon becomes +2 to your attack and damage rolls
Empowered Spear II Empowered Spear, Character Level 13 Ascalon becomes +3 to your attack and damage rolls
Divine Spear Furious Precision, Character Level 5 Ascalon deals +1d6 radiant damage.
Divine Spear II Divine Spear, Character Level 11 Ascalon’s physical and radiant damage both become 1d8.

Patience of the Saints

Enhancements from this grouping improve your defensive capability.

Enhancement PreReq Description
Patient Defense You may spend 0 AP or 0 Reactive AP and up to 3 Precision Points to increase your AR by +1 per point (max 3) spent until the beginning of your next turn.
Patient Defense II Patient Defense, Character Level 11 Patient Defense becomes max 5.
Patient Precision You only lose 1 Precision Point when you miss instead of all your points. When a creature misses you with an attack, you may spend 2 Reactive AP to gain +1 Precision Point.
Saintly Will Patient Defense, Character Level 7 You may now use Patient Defense to increase your FORT or WILL.

Magic of the Saints

Enhancements from this grouping enhance your combat style with select magical abilities.

Enhancement PreReq Description
Loyalty If you are not holding it, you may recall Ascalon to your hand by spending 1 AP. If a creature is already Impaled (with Furious Precision III) when you recall Ascalon, it triggers the secondary damage effect.
Flight of Faith Furious Precision The thrown range of Ascalon increases to 60 ft. You can increase this range by +20 ft per Precision Point spent. Additionally, you may choose to Impale a target on a throw if you possess Furious Precision III. If you Impale a flying creature, it falls from the sky.
Heightened Precision Your max amount of Precision Points increases to 10, but you may only add 5 to your damage done with Furious Precision.
Saintly Smite Heightened Precision When you hit a creature with Ascalon, you may spend 1 Precision Point to add +1d8 radiant damage. You may spend more than 1 Precision Point on this ability at a time, but doing so costs +2 AP per additional point spent.
Radiant Spear Divine Spear Gain the Radiant Spear special attack.
  • Radiant Spear: (4 AP and 2 Precision Points) When you throw Ascalon it transforms into a swirling aura of radiance. Make a special attack against the REF of each creature of your choice in a line with a range equal to Ascalon’s thrown range. On a hit, deal 2d10 + STR radiant damage. If Ascalon is enhanced with Flight of Faith, you may trigger Impale on any creature Ascalon hits during this attack, which stops the line and applies the effects of Impale on that creature.
