Leon Marstemal, Duke

A halfling male named Leon Marstemal is the duke of most of the Old Forest, a position that calls for some amount of ongoing military vigilance. In his mid-forties, Leon is both a physically and politically imposing leader, and anyone would be foolish to underestimate his height.

Leon’s ducal estate is located in Dalewright itself, but he spends much of his time in the forest with his militia, trying to crack down on bandit groups like the Merry Foresters.

Leon faces the ongoing challenge of dealing with Amelia Grace. Having dealt delicately with the problem for over two years to no avail, Leon is now of the opinion that Amelia’s little village, Grace Grove, should be sacked; Amelia arrested; and her militia killed as traitors. Queen Astaria refuses to take this step, fearing the negative public sentiment it would likely generate. Leon, angry but resigned to follow his queen’s commands, continues his endless war of attrition against these folk and the other denizens of the forest.
