Curse of Trembling

Occult Ritual, Necromancy, Curse, Dark Power
Casting Time: 1 hour
Range: Indefinite
Recharge: 1 week
Duration: 1 week
Spell Description
If you have not cast this curse in the last 7 days, you may make a magic attack against a creature of your choice on the same plane of existence as you, targeting their FORT.

Your magic attack gains a modifier based on how familiar you are with the creature:

  • Have never met it: -20
  • Have met it more than a month ago: -15
  • Have met it in the last month: -10
  • Have met it in the last week: -5
  • Have met it in the last 24 hours: -2
  • Are currently in its presence: +0

Your magic attack also gains a modifier based on whetheryou have any of the creature’s personal effects:

  • None: -5
  • Personal effect like clothing or a trinket: -0
  • Physical part of the creature, such as hair, teeth, or a finger:+5
  • You have the creature itself: +10

Lesser Restoration and similar magic can remove this curse if the caster succeeds on a magic roll against a DC of your Magic Attribute +10. The creature attempting this rolls 2d20, using the lower result. Greater Restoration and similar magic can remove this curse automatically.

If you hit the creature, it is afflicted by your Curse of Trembling. For the extent of the curse, it is Shaken. It cannot remove this Shaken condition by any means other than spells, chants, and/or invocations from the Primal and/ or Psionic source of magic. Such magic will suppress the effects for the duration of the spell, chant, or invocation, after which point this curse resumes. The exceptions are Lesser Restoration and Greater Restoration. Lesser Restoration can remove this curse if the caster succeeds on a magic roll against a DC of your Magic Attribute +10. The creature attempting this rolls 2d20, using the lower result. Greater Restoration and similar magic can remove this curse automatically.

Dark Power
If your Ritual misses the target creature, it afflicts you instead.
