[back to Kings of Tyranny NPCs]

Wherever the godking treads, Enshunu lingers. The right hand of Mangondulon and captain of the Kisir Katack, Enshunu is a figure of legend within Palask: an unbeatable warrior, a stalwart ally, and a not so subtle lover. Enshunu’s story begins as a raider and prolific bandit. He plagued the lands of Gilgalon, besting any and all that came for his head in duels and skirmishes that ended within moments of their beginning. After years of escaping capture, a then young Mangondulon, not yet a king, volunteered to apprehend the criminal himself. The rumor is that Enshunu and the prince spent three days and three nights outwitting one another, until finally Mangondulon subdued Enshunu, and in his mercy, offered the bandit a place within Palask to honor such a rare talent.

Read Aloud: Laden beneath a suit of sparse iron plates, Enshunu is unkempt, long locks of sandy brown hair spilling down his back wild, split curls. He sports a humored grin at all times, one beset into a chiseled, sharp countenance, his eyes wandering, curious, and discerning. On his back is strapped a massive, impractical axe, its head of iron, wieldable only by a fool unconcerned for his own safety, and with the strength enough to split a wall with a single punch.

Personality

Enshunu is uncultured, boisterous, and irreverent, as much the life of the party as he is its death, prone to taking frivolities to their absolute limit. He’s known to appear in taverns across Palask, creating wild scenes and enriching many a night, albeit at the cost of more than a few broken windows and walls. Many find his presence an added charm, at least until he drinks too much.

Despite his unhinged proclivities, Enshunu is a loyal follower, possessing an undying fondness for Mangondulon, willing and able to lay his life down in support of the godking. He too possesses an insight into people, seeing near everyone he meets as a potential challenge in mind, spirit, or body, and never underestimating a potential foe, or friend.

A man of courage, and perhaps a boundless stubbornness, Enshunu never backs down from a fight, not unless commanded by the godking himself.

Arena Regular

Enshunu makes regular appearances at the Naplaqtum, challenging arena champions for the sport of it and to keep his legend as a warrior alive. He rarely, if ever, loses a duel, and occasionally will fight captured creatures from the wilds.

Truth is Often Simpler

While it is true that Enshunu and Mangondulon spent three days and three nights together, it wasn’t as enemies. The truth of their early engagement is that Enshunu ambushed the prince, as he often did, stole his valuables, and left him alive. Enshunu never killed anyone he robbed, and upon realizing who his pursuer was, he instead untied him and was taken in by Mangondulon’s perceptive manner. They spent those days as lovers, but stoked the rumors of an epic duel instead.

Incorruptible

Enshunu has pledged his life to his godking. He will die before he dishonors Mangondulon, and while he takes the occasional lover, not even in his wild forays of drunkenness will he betray his best friend and liege.
