Reston Bruneau is an elderly human male, sharp and direct, like a chiseled stone knife. He has an iron-gray beard and a bald head over which he typically wears a stately felt cap. The Bruneau Duchy includes Greenvalley, Silverbranch, and many small towns across Kendaria’s southern plains. The Bruneau dual estate itself is a half-hour’s ride north of Silverbranch: a stony, isolated estate consisting of a grand manor, a very small private town for the duke’s laborers such as cooks and smiths, and crenelated fortifications encasing the whole affair.
Reston Bruneau is an antagonistic force against the Sutians. He is always looking for ways to apply pressure to the Sutians and exercises any legal loophole to squeeze more taxes out of Greenvalley. He pursues them with such dogged animosity because his daughter, Regina, was betrothed to Elarion before Elarion was wedded to Brimmel Rockwall. While Regina has long ago moved on, Reston is not one to let such an insult to his honor go unpunished.
