Influenza
Uncommon Disease
Lethality: Medium
Transmissibility: Medium
Infection: A creature contracts Influenza by being exposed to unsanitary conditions or another creature who has contracted Influenza already. When such conditions are met, make a +4 attack roll against the creature’s FORT. On a hit, they are infected. The symptoms of Influenza vary but are typically similar to a common coronavirus, although much more severe. Fever, muscle pain, nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and fatigue are common; as are severe headaches, nausea, sore throats, and coughing. Symptoms manifest 1d2 days after becoming exposed to the disease. A creature is contagious after 12 hours.
Outbreak: 5d12 creatures in an urban area contract Influenza.
Contagion: At the end of each day, 1d20 additional creatures are infected if any infected creature has not quarantined.
Symptoms: An infected creature suffers the following symptoms each day until their disease ends. These symptoms are cumulative.
- Day 1: Gain Fatigue
- Day 2: Demoralized
- Day 3: Gain Fatigue
- Day 4: Shaken
- Day 5: Gain Fatigue and Slowed
- Day 6: Gain Fatigue and Sickened
- Day 7: Gain Fatigue and +1 Death Point
- Day 8: Gain Fatigue
- Day 9: Gain Fatigue
- Day 10: Gain Fatigue and +1 Death Point
The disease lasts for 2d4+2 days after symptoms manifest. Once the disease ends, you recover from Fatigued normally and remove all other conditions except for Demoralized, which persists for 1d6 additional days.
Treatment: One time while infected, a creature may make a DC 20 INT/Medicine check or have another creature administer medicine to them and make this check on their behalf. On a success, reduce the duration of the disease by 2 days, and remove 1 Death Point.
