The Parasaurolophus is recognizable by its distinct crescent-crested head. By manipulating its nasal canal, it can produce a series of trumpeting noises that it uses to communicate with other Parasaurolophuses across distances of several miles. Parasaurolophuses are known to [[travel]] in quite large herds that can be divided into smaller family units in much the same way that a humanoid tribe operates. Due to their tight-knit herd societies, Parasaurolophuses are difficult to train. When dino wranglers do manage to train a Parasaurolophus, it makes quite a valuable mount for scouting as it can trumpet alarms or signals to other riders.
